Cumminsiella mirabilissima Aecia

These are the aecia of the rust fungus Cumminsiella mirabilissima on the berries of its host - Mahonia aquifolium. This is the stage of the rust that produces aeciospores.

These are much nicer looking than the ones that infected some of my pears. I like the cupped form!
