Scorpion fly- Panorpa cognata

Post by pawelfoto »

I found it yesterday. The specimen was dried and damaged. I restored it gently. Unfortunately, it was incomplete, so I was unable to photograph the beautiful "venom spike".

A very striking species. The "scorpion tail" they have is really the genitalia of the male. Completely harmless.
