Unexpected funny animation during focus stackingg

Post by pawelfoto »

I tested the focus bracketing on the Canon M6 Mark II camera. On a freshly picked young linden shoot I put a cockroach taken from a test tube with an acohol so that it was calm as a stone and did not move at all. Magnification about 1: 1 (+ crop), f / 5.6; 1 / 20s, focus increrment # 1. Before running Zerene, I continuously looked through the obtained input images. I kept the arrow pressed so I could see the depth of field change smoothly. In few seconds I saw a tiny bug (amphid?) moving! The fast internal focus bracketing automatically created the film frames, and luckily the worm was moving towards the changing focus. For your joy, I show you 2 gifs from this "macro still life" session.
