Ozark Witch Hazel Flowers

Post by rwgray »

Hamamelis vernalis (Ozark witch hazel) is one of the first Missouri native plants to flower each year, sometimes even during warm days in January. Those depicted here opened in March of this year and could, therefore, be considered late bloomers. The blossoms, with their unusually colored, ribbon-like petals, are a very welcome sign that spring is not far off. Franklin County, Missouri.

Excellent! I love the extra detail pulled in by sharp focused stacking.

Good composition and execution; I like the black background with the brown-toned subject. Excellent image.
