Nice work!

Refresh my memory, please: what does "FB1" mean?

Glorious!
What's that, 600 images?
It's very clear of out-of-focus forground haze. :smt023
Is that hours of photoshop?

Hi Rik, hi Chris,

Sorry for the use of abbreviations.

Camera: Canon EOS M6 Mark II
Tube-Lens: Canon EF 70-200L F4
Lens: Mitutoyo M Plan Apo 2x / 0.055
Exposure time: 1/20 s
Illumination: 3 * LED-torch
Stack: 411 single shots
Step-size: FB1 (step 1 of the internal focus bracketing of the M6 Mark II)

BTW, yes, lots of cleaning with PS :-)

Best,
ADi

So..you did it with the lens focus motor and no rail or focus block, did you?

:-k maybe I would think in getting a new camera like yours

Hi Pau,
Yes, I use the internal focus bracketing very often.
But, the second fantastic feature of the M6M2 is the full electronic shutter.
I have taken over 500000 photos with my M6M2 so far,
but only one with the mechanical shutter :-)
By the way, when I use my rail, I fire the flashes in the middle of the exposure time.

Hi ADi,
Do you get a full frame image with your set (Nikon10x + raynox150 + 70-200 at 200mm) or is there any vignetting? Are focus bracketing in 6DmkII and electronic shutter as good as in R5, which is 2x more expensive? I am asking because what you write looks really encouraging. Is the 6d enough for extreme macro or is it still worthwhile to collect on the R5? I have 5DmkIV and my heart hurts when I hear the mirror crash 300 times and I have the prospect of replacing the shutter in some time.

Focus bracketing is supported on mirrorless M6 Mark II, not 6D Mark II.
Magic Lantern implements focus bracketing for earlier 6D and other older Canon DSLRs.

Hi,

I can only say that Mitu10x with DCR150 or EF70-200L is good for FF.
( I don't use NIKON lenses, not anymore because of CA).

I use ML with my 6D and internal FB with the M6M2.
The readout time of the chip of the M6M2 at full el. shutter = 1/20s

I did not read exactly. Now everything is clear - thank you for explaining the abbreviations. I am delighted with your work. Although I know that the equipment itself will not take good photos for me, it is probably worth buying the M6 and trying the focus bracketing and fullelectronic shutter with continuous lighting. (I for sure need to buy an EF-M to EF mount adapter with electronics transfer).

It's a very good job
I was not happy using the Canon 70-200 as a tube lens, I think the Raynox work better, with less vignetting.

Hi Paweł,

yes, internal FB does not support flash :-(
But FB of ML on 6D works great with flash :-)

Hi Javier,
I could imagine your 6D getting some vignetting with the EF 70-200L,
but the 50D should work without any problems.

You are right, I always think of an FF setting. Anyway, I see the use of zoom lenses like the Canon 70-200 very cumbersome because of the weight and size.
