You sure this creature is not related to dragons? :D
Very nice picture.

That's a beautiful image!

Those claws look like my desktops -- not really "dirty", but cluttered with left over bits of stuff from previous activities.

Beautiful images. I like the pollen and scales on the legs and claws! Cleaned is not always better.

Hello Lou,
yes, sometimes it's better not to clean, not that I am lazy.
But I just don't know how to clean butterflies.
You can't bathe them in an ultrasonic device.

I can see that there is still a long way to go. Success for me is to make the correct sharp insect stack. The discussion about "interpolated with Bicubic, Lanczos2 ..." is dark magic for me. Great pictures of ADi! Amazing colors and details.

At 50X NA 0.55, you're running at effective aperture f/45 (=50/(2*0.55)). Even for extreme blue wavelength 400 nm, that still puts the diffraction cutoff frequency at 18.2 microns per cycle. Against that, your camera has a sensor that is 3.2 microns per pixel.
It will be 25x NA 0.55, because of the 100mm TL, so it's F/27, rigth? Still in the diffration territory for this sensor though.

The scales photos are absolutely incredible. Ones of the best in terms of resolution and quality that I have ever seen.
One question - with Canon 100mm L, do all your Mitutoyos fully cover an APS-C?
