Photographs of a variegated form of Viola sororia (common violet) that grows opportunistically in my lawn. Considered a “weed” by many, the flowers are, nonetheless, very attractive. A portrait shot of the flower and close-up of the flower throat and the dense beard “hairs” of the lateral petals.

Re: Common Violet
Welcome to the forum! This is a nice pair of images to begin your journey; I am particularly interested in the detail in the second one. I would personally like to see the images a bit brighter, but you will have to watch for overexposing the white parts of the flower if you do so. Perhaps a little fill light for the darker center portion? Found objects, often plants, are a great source of inspiration!
