Hello everybody,
I have just received my new bargains and stacked using focus-bracketing the test-picts:
1.) Mitutoyo M 50 / 0.65

2.) Olympus UMPlanFI 50x/0,80

BTW, both using M6MII & EF70-200L & FB at the step-size 1

Re: two bargains
Nice high-mag stacks. Flashes are certainly helping, with my continuous light rig it is quite more complicated. Light is a tad hard to me, but detail is excellent, though maybe a little oversharpened.

Re: two bargains
Hi Macrero,
These stacks have been illuminated by the LED because M6MII doesn’t support any flash at the focus-bracketing.
My current LED illumination is not strong enough, so I had to use the exposure time of 2 seconds
I have already been looking for the COB-LED 100W (driver and heat sink too).

Re: two bargains
Hi Adi,
lighting on these scales do looked very different to me than in previous photos you've shared. Maybe in order to avoid shooting at several seconds exposure time you have used a weak diffuser?
While not optimal, LED lighting at high-mag's is viable if your setup is sturdy and you use powerful enough LEDs.

Re: two bargains
Why 2s is wrong ?
My optimal exposure time is 4-5s (I know, that lot of guys are using even longer exposure), even at high magnification.

Re: two bargains
Hi Saul,
My experience at the high magn is: the shorter the exposure time the better the quality of the stack.
Firstly less negative influences of the vibrations secondly lower noise level.
Therefore I usually use flashes at the lowest power (1/128) and trigger them between the curtains.
Unfortunately it cannot be done during the internal focus-bracketing of the M6MII
So, I have just added some LEDs to my rig and reduced the time to ½ sec:

So, I would say that the resolution is a little bit better.
