In the shop and decided to take a close look at several knots.
The first image is a small "spike" knot that I came across a while back.
Interesting how the tree can cope with such a growth, perpendicular to
the grain.
The second shot is a knot I removed from a small piece of pine. What
is amazing is that the knot is 25mm across, and look at the growth
rings! Pretty old for such a small knot. More than 20 years.
