This is part of my testing of the AZ100 objectives
Equipment:
EOS 7D + Pentax bellows + M42 tubes + Sigma LSA + various adapters
Nikon AZ 4X 0.40 Plan Apo very close to the tube lens
Two Jansjo LED lamps with ping pong ball diffuser
Oly BHMJ focus block + Wemacro MicroMate DIY coupled with magnets
384 frames stack with Zerene Pmax UDR +PS adjustements
Magnification on sensor about 8X
Full image
CENTER: actual pixel crop
SHORT BORDER CENTER: actual pixel crop
CORNER: actual pixel crop
Cross eye stereo
IMO the lens is excellent at the center and almost up to the long borders but shows degradation at the short borders and the corners are bad

Interesting patterns of wing scales.
However, in this case I find it difficult to catch the right stereo view.
That is often the case with pictures consisting of repeated patterns covering the whole picture to the edges.
The trick to make the stereo viewing easier is to separate the two pictures by a narrow contrasting line (in this case black or white would do it).
I use to make each picture 510 pixels wide and leave the resting 4 pixels for the line. Just a friendly hint

Troels, thanks for your comment and suggestion.
Because I'm unable to see cross eye stereos I wasn't aware of the issue, I need to invert this kind of images side by side with StereoPhotoMaker to see parallel view with mirror glasses.
I've drawn a black line at the middle, please tell me it if works better for you

Pau,
Thanks, now it is much easier to focus.
And suddenly it is obvious that apart from the complex scale pattern we have a complex topology. First we have the waved "shoreline" against the black background. And secondly we have a mountain landscape: differences in the distance from the observer. Just left of the center a huge ridge with valleys on each side. This is very far from being a flat object.
This also adds to confuse the eyes when trying to focus. But a very nice experience when you succeed.
