Fly head, proboscis extended

Won't be winning any awards for composition but this shows some of the more interesting features quite well, I thought. 10x mitty.

Nice
Is that the same fairly-hairy fly as http://photomacrography.net/forum/viewt ... 251#206251 ?
I don't think it's a tachinid though.

Is it?

Different fly. Similar to the last but metallic gold colouring rather than metallic green.

Nicely shot. The proboscis structure looks similar to the blowfly that I shot at http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/v ... hp?t=16216 .

Nice work. The hairs came out so clear. I love the clarity of the feathery structure in the to left of the image.
I'm in Canada! Isn't that weird?

It looks great to me, certainly better than any insect macro I've ever done.
