I did this one mainly because I was interested in the eye configuration. Hair looks a bit better though :)

Those eyes are crazy. I find the other POV is much more interesting though.

Hi abpho, the eyes are bizarre. I agree that the other view has alot more going for it in the personality dept.!

Hi Rik, it would be easier to refresh your memory if I had the name in my memory :) Body length is between 4-5 mm, collected from tall grass in a clearing in the woods. Here is a very bad shot of the creature that might help (I apologize for the quality!):

Strikes me as some kind of "March Fly" (Diptera:Bibionidae). See http://bugguide.net/node/view/872654 for example. NikonUser has a nice image HERE, but the eyes on that one are naked.
