Nothing fancy but took a small step up the macro ladder from a bridgecamera with Raynox lenses to a Canon 1000D with Amscope 4x or Nikon Finite Conjugate 10X on bellows on a Wemacro rail. I use a small LED ringlight and a pingpong ball as diffuser.
I'm no programmer but wanted to learn a bit about Python so I decided to make my own stacking software as an exercise.
I tried to put extra attention on reducing transparancy and halos and this is the result so far...

One example of how the program handles transparancy and halos (with and without mitigation). No retouching at all.

Re: Part of a fly
Not up for sale anywhere (yet?).
After some more testing maybe I can let someone try it.
Its very slow and uses a lot of temporary files saved on HDD.
Used time on my current laptop with this stack (136 steps):
- Aligning on high accuracy took: ca 15 min
- Stacking another ca 20 min.
My Laptop specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4310U CPU @ 2.00GHz 2.60 GHz
RAM: 8,00 GB (7,88 GB går att använda)

Hi
The result is important, not the time!
Am curious where it is then to buy.

Pretty good! I'd think it would take some pretty serious AI to purge halos. Maybe some sort of algorithm where the user samples an area and says 'these are what halos look like. Fill them in with copies of pixels from over here."
