Coprotus arduennensis on cow dung

I suspect this was a bit smelly to shoot, but the composition, lighting, and images make it all worthwhile. Nice work!

Dung from most herbivores is only dead plants, so the smell is'nt a problem. I keep my samples in closed containers to prevent drying. It is very interesting to keep a sample long time - there is a succession of different small fungi and some of them are really nice objects for macrophotography.

That was worth it. There must a lot of interesting fungi and slime molds emergent on dung, if one but gets close enough to look.
