Re: mosquito
Fantastic job. How do you avoid halos on a bright colored background? On my stacks both at DMap and Pmax, the background needs to be replaced and I have to painstakingly select hair by hair in PS.

Hello Pawel,
You can't really avoid the halos
I have to clean up the background like you do :-)

Re: stitched mosquito
Nice images, I would love to find one of those mitu 50x.
One thing though, I think the WB on those images is quite off. Do you have a calibrated monitor?

Re: stitched mosquito
Nice set. I always think that mozzies have eye facets in places that can't surely be of any use optically.
Canon 5D and 30D | Canon IXUS 265HS | Cosina 100mm f3.5 macro | EF 75-300 f4.5-5.6 USM III | EF 50 f1.8 II | Slik 88 tripod | Apex Practicioner monocular microscope
Re: stitched mosquito
Hello Javier,
Unfortunately not, but in the meantime I don't find it so dramatic,
because nowadays the pictures are mainly viewed on mobile phones and tablets that are not calibrated.
So, I always upload the result to Instagram and then look at it on my mobile phone :-)
But I try to achieve the same colours that I perceive when I look at the object through a stereo microscope.

Re: stitched mosquito
Hi,
To me there is a heavy cold/blue tint on them but I am not an expert in color management myself.
I would love to learn how to properly edit in photoshop, but my self taught workflow is quite chaotic.
You can try printing your images and some similar ones from sources you trust and compare them against each other
Re: stitched mosquito
Hello Javier,
so the WB is not an issue for me. I can easily change it anytime :-)
I guess that my pictures can give the impression of a wrong WB,
because most of the time the background is completely replaced.

I always take pictures in RAW, develop and edit them in TIFF,to properly edit in photoshop
