Is this a wild orchid of some kind? Found in tuscany italy

I beleive they are Thomisus onustus. I was really pleased to find these as i have never managed to before.

That's a handsome spider, and in shot 2 it has a little smiley face on it's back! Nice shots... Sorry I've no idea about the flower.

Argh! The little crawler went right for the throat! :shock: I can just imagine the sound of a short quick gasp, with cartilage snapping and the sweet warm taste of blood, oh wait a minute, that's a butterfly. Never mind... Great predatory photos though! :wink:

Over here they're called the flower spider as they usually hide in middle of a flower.

The flower looks like something in the pea family, possibly even a Sweet Pea.
