Ritz Cracker Spider / Araneus gemmoides

Post by AlP »

Found this Araneus gemmoides hiding out in a curled clematis leaf in the backyard. Its dorsal to me looks like a Ritz cracker. It is also known as the jewel spider and cat-faced spider. Canon 30D, Canon 100mm macro and Canon MR14 ring light.

Nice! It does not look easy to get lighting all the way back in there.
