Grasshopper, Nuthin' Special

I had a staring contest with this grasshopper for half an hour. It didn't blink once, so I conceded. Canon 30D with 180mm macro and 1.4 extender with a monopod and tripod chair for me.

a beautiful portrait and an interesting detail - the front crossed legs holding the straw.
