Hi all,
First post including photos. I am new to macro photography, having only played around for the past 3 weeks. These are first attempts. Gear is pretty minimal - Olympus EM5iii, 60mm macro lens and using the tiny Olympus flash supplied with the camera but off camera with an extension cord. Its spring time here and there are millions of wildflowers in bloom. Also some nasties lurking about.
The first photo is an Australian bull-ant. They are about 25mm (1 inch) in length and are the most poisonous insect in the world with at least 1 recorded death from their sting. Unfortunately they are also extremely aggressive always working on the theory that attack is best form of defence. There were a group of us out that day for a bushwalk and photo shoot. While one person was taking photos another person was keeping a lookout for these ants. They are not nice!
The other photos were of some of the flora that we found on the walk. Probably not the best of the day, but a sample.
Hope you enjoy
Bruce Campbell
