Intriguing!

I can imagine this picture very big in a doctors waiting room.
It keeps people's mind busy while waiting!

A very pleasing image.
I find it more interesting than 'straightforward' flowers and insects although there have been many excellent mineral photos on the forum that are similarly abstract.
They tend to be less complex though.
If you have enough layers a stereo pair would be very interesting and add another level of complexity.

My thanks for your comments. David, you are right about the complexity; this is the first image I have done that I had to load onto the site using a "low quality" jpeg setting in order to keep the file below the 300 kb required standard.

The image looks great, despite the "low quality" setting.

But I am desperate to know: what is it??

Found outdoors, it is a commonly seen object that has undergone some depridations of time, including having gotten wet.

Aha, a puzzle piece! Well, this is only fair. :D

Crazed ceramic surface with water drops and airborne debris, possibly pollen?

Yes, airborne debris and water drops, but no ceramics were harmed in the making of this image--

Exactly! A foot or two above the ground, apparently abandoned by its maker/owner, soon to disappear entirely.
