Sweat Bees Foraging in Sunflowers

Post by Dalantech »

This series is a work in progress cause I'm still shooting them, and still trying to get images where the foreground isn't distracting. I'm not using any bait, and I'm shooting when the critters are hyperactive. I taught myself a long time ago to do all of the composition and framing with my peripheral vision so all I have to do is pay attention to where I want the focus to start. Comes in handy when tracking moving subjects with the camera since I don't have to waste time looking around the frame.

Tech Specs: Canon 80D (F11, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (2x) + a diffused MT-26EX RT (E-TTL metering). These are single, uncropped, frames taken hand held. In post I used Topaz Denoise AI, Sharpen AI, and Clarity in that order.

As always John your pictures are stunning. I love the middle one with the bee wrapped around the stamen.
