Every time I cast a shadow over this mating pair of Ladybugs the female would start running. So I had to keep letting the sun hit her so she'd stop and then rapidly frame, focus, and take the shot before she started moving. I look at the area where I want to focus to start and use my peripheral vision to frame and compose a scene. Since I don't waste time looking around the view finder I can quickly take a shot. Twisting my wrist(s) to lay the area of acceptable focus where it needs to be is also automatic at this point -the less I think about it the easier it is to do.
Tech Specs: Canon 80D (F11, 1/50, ISO 100) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (around 2x) + a diffused MT-26EX RT (E-TTL metering with -1/3 FEC). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held. In post I used Topaz Sharpen AI and Clarity in that order.
