Nice series. I think the 4th is my pick, with nice out of focus background, although I wish the feet wern't clipped.

Well, I'm impressed. They look as if you took them in natural settings. Did you? I've found Tiger Beetles to be highly active and notoriously hard to approach. Would you mind sharing some of your stalking/shooting technique?

DanGuy48 - no special techniques here...i just keep trying to approach them. Eventually you'll find one that's cooperative :). This guy did fly away but never far away so I just kept bugging him/her.

I looked at that previously and reserved comment. The initial impression is of a syphid (hoverfly) larva. However, there are two of them. Both look too irregular (at least) in outline and both are associated with a leaf vein. I suspect something else is going on here.

I believe Fred is referring the little winged critter in image #3, not the odd veins in image #5...
