Rodenstock 35mm Eurygon

Post by g4lab »

Here is a Rodenstock Eurygon 35mm lens. Polaroid sold these with their US made MP3 macro camera system. When the MP4 came out manufactured by Fujimoto in Japan they switched to the Tominon lenses also from their.

This lens is opening at$24.99 , has two plus days to go, ships to the US, and has no bids.
Probably a pretty good lens.
I have no connection with the seller etc. etc.....

I was the only person to bid on this. It finally arrived after a somewhat circuitous route and then delayed by an inspection by Canada Customs.

Can't think of any use for the metal bellows, but the lens seems useful.

Reversed on Nikon bellows I get a range of magnification from 3.15-7.87x magnification and working distances between 1 and 2cm.
46 frames @ 0.05mm, f/5.6 on lens; single flash diffused with Slushie cup top and paper towelling
Full frame, 4.7x mag on 23.6mm sensor, ZS PMax
A sharp lens with no CA.
Thanks Gene.

Looks Great! You are welcome! :D

I don't you need to reverse this lens. It was a macro lens in the
Polaroid MP 3 system and was designed to give reasonably high mag thrown onto a 4X5 sheet of film. It is probably fairly symmetric in design.

Mine (i.e., the lens) is identical but Ser #5873316, so this one seems more recent,
I tested it non-reversed, slightly lower mags. 2.6-7.6x but significantly longer WD, 3-4cm.
Image quality looks identical
At $20.00 this lens has to be a bargain (if glass is clean) for anyone wanting this range of magnification.
