Motorizing Z axis (Polyvar SC)
Looking for some help and specific suggestions. I want to motorize my Polyvar SC's z-axis stage for stacking purposes via the fine focus knob, including software to do so. Focus is achieved by the stage moving in the Z direction. I assume I can attach something to the fine focus knob to make this happen but I'm not sure what to look for.

Have you personally used it? If so, I have some questions if you have time?Scarodactyl wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 7:33 pmMaybe one of these babies?

I haven't, I only mention it based on past recommendations posted here. I am planning to get one, Saul's design looks excellent but I'm not sure about controlling the motor myself.

This is my personal adaptation of the MicroMate:

not meant to compete with Saul's beautiful and compact couplers but its main features are the protection of the focus mechanics if overturning (important with some blocks, irrelevant with others), auto centring and fast coupling-decoupling
