Wild Heerbrugg M400
I've been slowly piecing together an M400 and wondering if anyone knows of a LED kit for the base I happen to have?

That Halogen? That must get warm. Would keep your hands warm in winter probably!

It's like 20w, not likely to get too hot. I have one of these bases but the fan whines to the point it isn't really usable, so i've been pondering something similar, or maybe a fiber optic retrofit. I'll look forward to seeing how the project progresses.

Ah only 20w! That makes sense.Scarodactyl wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 4:40 pmIt's like 20w, not likely to get too hot. Had a 1000w lamp and it would literally zap moths out of the air like a death beam, the bulb would vaporize any dust that settled on the lamp! (not in a scope BTW)

I haven't found a LED source yet. Still looking. Would you post a pic of your power supply?Scarodactyl wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 4:40 pmIt's like 20w, not likely to get too hot. Could take inspiration from this product and use your own LED. It seems very simple yet effective.

Re: Wild Heerbrugg M400
Does anyone have a manual in English for the Wild M400 that's free? Sure would appreciate getting a copy.

Re: Wild Heerbrugg M400
Now that I have the M400 somewhat set up, I thought I'd try an eyeball image stack with the Wild M400. Since there are no divisions on the focus knob I'm calling it an eyeball stack. Naturally, I need to work on the lighting but I thought it was pretty good for a quick stack. BTW, the Wasp really is that color. I wonder if the M400 is capable of hooking up a stepping motor to the focus knob?

Below is the POL setup, single shot, no stacking.

Just thought I'd share my experience making a few glass discs for my Wild M400 POL stage and Leica M420.
