Mysterious High-End Lens Any Ideas?

Any guesses? I'm testing it in about 5 minutes.

This is what I know, its definitely high-end image quality, superior fit and finish, dark-green lens coatings, expensive when new.

This is an OEM-private/no label version of a famous lens.

Super upscale optical correction.

Macro-Cosmos and RayP know already so don't spoil it guys! #-o

Best,

Robert

Too easy for you Chris!

Just measured 93mm and f/3.1 forwards (0.5x) and 3.3 in rev (for 2x).

Looks like a PN952x!

Interesting lens!

Here is more about it, tons of nice info:

You will need to have a translator equipped browser or this link:

I should mention that all the images on that site that is linked are stolen without any credit given, some of the images are from the link I posted, but they dont credit it. Skip the LUXatic link and go to Marco Cavina's site for the source.

CPS (CanonProService) had two of these in the loaner pool for a few years (1990s) until they were returned broken and then Canon stopped making parts, creating two big white paper weights. I tried a few times but was never able to borrow one. I was told by someone that used one that they were very sensitive to heatwaves, haze, etc, due to the small angle of view.

Best,

Robert
