What happens if you test for reflection at shallow angles, typical for use as flocking?

Here's how they look at about 10-deg from horizontal. Same conclusion I believe but perhaps they are closer in overall reflectivity numbers, though the Beetle Black seems to have more highlights and of a variety of colors:
