Dynamic liquid metalens, now with CA correction

Post by physicsmajor »

Fascinating article from SPIE about new work on optical metalenses; generally the active types could be very sharp, but couldn't correct CAs. The new approach allows CA correction.

Thought it might be interesting to this community, though I think the intended applications are micro/nanosystems quite far from tabletop imaging.

This is indeed very interesting!

But do I understand correctly that the current work is being done at frequencies that are roughly 500X lower than visible light?
