If that is the BX condenser male dovetail then given what you have shown me then that is the same as the BH2 dovetail otherwise the BH2 condenser would not fit the BX.
So eventually I pulled the trigger on the Thorlabs SM2Y3.

The bad news it does not fit a BH2 even though we deduced it might (should).

It is non returnable for obvious reasons.

If anyone wanted one for any other reason I could make them a sweet deal =D> =D>

Oh that really sucks. I'm sorry to hear the bad news. So, BH2 condenseer components fit BX, but not the other way around... why? I've even seen BX components installed on BH. Perhaps it's an exclusively Thorlabs issue...

I've seen BH mounts go for less than $50, is it possible to mount a BX vertical translator's condenser bracket onto a BH? Maybe you can file the BH mount down?

Thanks for the ideas.

If I could borrow a BX Condenser mount I would try it and then buy my own.

Purchasing a BH Mount for modification is an idea. Yes often seen for USD 50. Mostly in the US and the postage and tax much more than doubles that to get to the UK !!

Thanks. For me this closes this project.

Lovely! I always wanted to make an adaptor like this, never had the time to bother.
What are the 39mm threads for? Presumably, you intend to install a polariser?
Resolving power can be doubled.
I am going to seriously doubt this one, even though it was written in an official manual. I suppose, "can be" is their padding term.
That said, Olympus still offers an oblique condenser for the modern BX line of microscopes.
