Why do I get image corruption?

I just noticed this topic. I had a similar thing, photos occasionally corrupted (they looked like yours). This happened after it had worked fine for a couple weeks. This was a Nikon D810 hooked up to a custom build PC. I ended up plugging into a USB2 port rather than the USB3 and it has worked perfect now for a couple years.

This suggests that memory failures could be alleviated by installing new memory?ChrisR - ... put your memory into single channel mode rather than multichannel, to avoid nonspecific memory problems.
On a similar note, I had similar looking results when I recovered images from a crashed hard drive. They were Canon's .CR2 images though.
