Is that the finite one with about 3mm Working Distance? If so yes it's OK.
For general photomicroscopy with transmitted light on a microscope with a condenser, sure, it's fine. Beatable optically, but that price is very reasonable.

If you mean photography using reflected(top) light then it's certainly usable.
It's designed for a cover splip but still gives quite a good image.
You can extend the "tube length" (Objective to sensor) to compensate to some extent.

3mm is short to get top light into, but not as bad as some!

I think it is this infinite one (because of the "DIC M" designation), WD 2.1 mm: https://d33b8x22mym97j.cloudfront.net/p ... e87eb4.jpg

The Plan Fluors in general are very good for use on a microscope with transmitted illumination or epifluorescence (if that is what you mean with "microphotography").

It might be more challenging to hook this up directly to a camera.

YOu're right, different objective then so yes, 2mm is much more difficult to work with using reflected light.
It's still a very good price!

Antonio's goals and budget are spread across three threads, as we neglected to help him when he first posted under "Beginner's Micro."

I've tried to respond to all three threads in the original "beginners" location. May I suggest we continue any discussion there? (And yes, that thread should get moved to "Beginner's Macro," once Antonio has had a chance to see it.)

Antonio's other thread is in the Equipment Exchange forum.
