Splan Phase Objectives for DIC?
Is it possible to use Olympus Splan PL (I have 10,40, 100) objectives for DIC? Would the phase ring "mess up" the DIC effect?
I have no experience with Oly SPlan, so wait for other better sustained opinions.
My experience with finite Zeiss and Leitz phase objectives is that they don't work at all for DIC, likely because of the low position of their rear focal plane placed well inside the objective where the phase ring is placed, but of course this could be different with other models.
