Zeiss 8x / 0,2 Pol Epiplan (added list of objectives)

Post by Mr.Stone »

This weekend i got quite lucky, i bought about 40 microscopes, and some 47 loose objectives  :D :D :D and there must be well over 30 eyepieces and alot of other stuff.
One objective that stood out from the rest was a Zeiss 8x / 0,2 Pol Epiplan Microscope Objective.

Anyone have any idea if this would be good for stacking?

Irony of all this, i was really looking for a nikon 10x objective!!! no luck tho, jus two nikon objectives, one a 100x and the other a 1/4 x

Im still quite happy tho, i now have more then enough focus blocks to build a really good setup :D

With its microscope, yes. On bellows likely no:
- if it's finite corrected (160) it needs a corrective KPL eyepiece to complete its aberrations corrections.
- if it's infinite corrected it needs a corrective Zeiss tube lens to complete its aberrations corrections. (I have not actual experience with infinite Zeiss but I did read it in the forum).

Thank you for the info Pau, i lost this objective among all the others and have not had time yet to look if it is finite or not. A bummer tho!! Ill stick it on the wild and see if its worth it, if not ill sell it.

Rusty, i do not have any olympus focus blocks here, but if you can send me a picture perhaps then i can look if i cant find something that might help you. Worth a try. Strange tho as there are quite a couple of olympus x/y stages.

Meaning that 40 microscopes piled on top of each other would be quite a stack !
