Gretag 120mm

Post by Big Pete »

Hello from Sweden! I just got an Gretag 120mm from Russia and it looks very good. It came with a housing and a 50mm ring for that housing. There is a wider part of threads 50mm where I attached a 52mm step ring. At the front of this lens there is a filter thread of 40,5mm so it was easy to set up for a little test. After trying Lomo 3,7 and Canon MP 35mm 2,8 and also my 50mm 2,8 Apo-Rodagon N reversed, it looks like this could be what I was searching for. Now, there is a Gretag 178mm on the market and my question is if that lens is suitable for macro or not? Thank you for your answers.

Pete, welcome aboard!

Unfortunately I do not know the answers to your questions.

However, I see that this topic is misplaced here in the Image Galleries.

It is more appropriate in Equipment Discussions. I will move it there after you've had a chance to see this reply.

I have been curious too, but they aren't super cheap like the 120 was initially, and thr raynox is so good around 200mm that I imagine there wasn't an urgent push to try it.
