Hexagonal shapes on the ameoba's shell

Post by Michael5628 »

Many things in nature tend to be hexagonal in shape. The shell of some species of amoeba isn't exception. The photos aren't high quality, but you can see the hexagonal shapes on them.

Nicely caught. Hexagons are good at tiling a given area using minimal material - probably the main driver causing them to evolve in so many species. Nature is smart. :D
