Radiolaria exhibition circle by Klaus Kemp

Post by jmc »

I was recently fortunate to get a 25 Radiolaria exhibition circle by Klaus Kemp, and today thought I would try imaging it on my Olympus BHB microscope. I used an Olympus 10x UVFL objective, white LED light from below, and an Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser. The condenser was setup up as oblique to give the dark field image. Camera is a monochrome converted Nikon d800. This is a stack of 14 images using Zerene stacker and I have tried to clean it up as much as I could. To anyone who images radiolaria regularly, I am very impressed, as these seem to be even more prone to artifacts than diatoms. I've reduced resolution for sharing here, as the original file is 4609x4412 pixels. Also included is a photo of the slide.
