I am attaching some crystal images I made of different wines and Vitamin B12 below. The images were taken with polarizing microscopes - Motic BA310 and Zeiss Axioscope. I wrote two articles describing the techniques and methods I explored. Also I discuss some history of Tartaric acid and the contributions by Dr. Louis Pasteur in studying chirality.

See links above if interested in seeing more photos and some of my approached to making wine crystals. Also have lots of references on methods. Most images were taken with 4X or 10X objective, polarized light and full wave retardation filters. Vitamin B12 image - just used polarized light.

Re: Wine and Vitamin B12 Crystals
I especially like the one with a floral nose, a hint of vanilla and oak, and a smooth finish . . . if I could only remember which wine that was . . .
More seriously, great images. Thanks for sharing them.
