Red Onion Stomata

Post by Olympusman »

You know when an onion gets lost in the back of your pantry and starts sending out stalks? These are the stomata on a stalk. Stained with eosin and methylene blue.

Don't throw them out as they are aiding in reducing your carbon footprint. I don't for the life of me know why but those little things always intrigued me.? :-k The leaves of the Asiatic Dayflower, Commelina communis, are just loaded with them. Great photo BTW. :D
