Very nice set. I had no idea what I. echinospora was - it’s the Spiny-Spored Quillwort! Great name and interesting plant. I see it produces much smaller microspores too.

Spiny-Spored Quillwort is a good and very descriptive name, We (Dutch) used to use the same name, but self installed officials have ruled that it ought to be called Smaller Quillwort now. Which is silly for in mixed stands you can't separate them by size.

The microspores are not as lovely ornamented. This series shows my search for the best technique to illustrate the spores. Some of the 'failures' I actually prefer for their photographic qualities.
