Lovely. And a bonus points for the longest chemical name I've yet seen in the context of polarised crystal shots

Thanks. I got this along with two large crates of photochemicals years ago from the widow of a chemist. We lived in a watershed area north of New York City and it would have been a major hassle to dispose of them. I gave her some prices for what sell his old equipment for (a Deardorf 8X10 with four lenses and an M1 Garand rifle), and bought an enlarger from her. In appreciation, she gave me all of the chemicals. I got about a pound of phenidone, pyrogallic acid (coming up soon), lots of Elon and Hydroquinone among some exotic chemicals.
A small 100 gram bottle of this chemical called DD-8 by Dignan Photo Chemicals of North Hollywood, California. Last time I checked with Photographer's Formulary it was going for about $75 USD for 100 grams. I tried it as a developing agent using the Kodak D-23 formula and found it to be very silky with extremely fine grain.
