I need to visit one of the ponds in my local park and grab a couple of samples or pay a visit to my local trout stream or both. I used to keep jars of protozoa sitting around and would enjoy them hours on end at the microscope but got fascinated by amoebae and then got even more curious about plasmodial slime molds and fell head-first into the world of eumycetozoa. Wonderful image nanometer. :D

Interesting image, thanks for sharing. Curious about your electronic flash setup. Are you using a beam splitter for that?

Regards,

Walter

Thanks for looking Ken and Walter.

Walter: Yes, the beam splitter is under the condenser. I used a pellicle for a full frame Sony A-mount camera. The flash is off to the side. Not optimal, but it was simple and works reasonably well.
