In this video we see Beggiatoa, long bacterium that slides by the drop of water. Formed by many cells in a long filament.
We find it in putrid and without oxygen seawater.
Beggiatoa oxidizes Hydrogen Sulfide producing Sulfur and water.
The Sulfur remains in small "balls" that appear in colors in the video.
We observe it at more than a thousand increases.
Phase contrast and oblique semi-polarized light.
100X oil immersion objective.
