I got the objective DIC prism for my Nikon Plan Fluor 40x/0.75

Some members asked me why I was not getting background colors with my DIC setup. My Nikon DIC system is build to give gray levels background (from black to ligth gray), maybe because the main use is for scientific applications; but if you want other background color you move the objective DIC prism a little out and use the rotatable polarizer to change contrast.

Litonotus, thank you. Your dic NL prism is on the way.

Harald, thank you. These were single shot DIC with Nikon Plan Fluor 40x/0.75, flash, Canon 50D and direct projection (no photo lens used).

I love the second image!

Initially when doing DIC pictures I was didn't know that it was possible to change background colour and then I started playing around with the microscope and in my case I just used lambda-compensator to get blue background. Now I want flash...
