Egg of Sumatran Sunbeam
Hi, sharing a Sumatran Sunbeam (Curetis saronis sumatrana) egg shot under an Olympus BHM stage with a no brand 4x objective:

Jin, the butterfly egg is beautiful!
However, I am horribly distracted by that mysterious out-of-focus green blob in the foreground.
For me the image as shown works better if it is heavily cropped to show just the egg and that richly colored orange-yellow background.
I speculate that having the green blob in focus also would add to the interest by showing the egg's environment better.

Hi Rik,
Thanks for your kind words and am distracted by the OOF too but it was to late to retake the pic by the time I process and realise the issue as the caterpillar already hatched

The cat. actually come out from the top of the egg the next morning after I have done with the picture taking the night before .

That still is a beautiful and evocative picture. I do like the off-center composition on the egg.
