I extracted the surfaces from confocal volumes in Fiji, cleaned them up and rendered in Blender. Enjoy!

Wow! These are lovely!

I'm curious about the structural medium. Is this brown plastic, or chocolate from 3D-printed molds, or have you figured out how to 3D print well-tempered chocolate, or something else?

Hi Rik!

They don exist in real world - yet - I'm preparing the meshes (3d models) for 3d printing right now :) For now, this is just computer graphics "art" :)

The one that shows the chloroplast structure is a nice touch.

Aha! So I guessed wrong about exactly what "rendered in Blender" meant.

They're still lovely. :D
