Re: Olympus BH-2 Equipment for photographing insects in etha
I have a trinocular Olympus BH2-BHS microscope equipped with a BH2-UCD condenser. I now want to be able to take photos of insects in alcohol on a petri dish. I want a 10x and a 20x objective with long working distance. The Olympus 10x A, D Plan and S Plan objectives have just over 7mm working dista...

Re: BHS Objectives, Mechanical Stage..
I'm trying to figure out a good photo eyepiece and objective combo.. obviously whether I use DIC probably impacts the overall length.. thus adding to any CA woes.. So my question, if I get a single splan apo and don't do any dic stuff for the time being.. what photo eyepiece would work well for tha...

Re: Questions about Olympus BHB
Also, on the base of the stand there's a little switch marked H / L. I gather I am supposed to use the H setting when using the higher magnification objectives. My question is...what the heck does it do? Use H for 20x, 40x and 100x objectives. Use L for 4x and 10x. I have not been able to find a ma...

The objectives I have which all came together, appear to be for the older/earlier lower spec CHA/B/2. Does anyone know if those objectives are likely to be parfocal with other makes at the time, or anything about any eyepiece corrections the objectives would be designed for? You can see those objec...

Objectives which came with this, like the ones you get on a CH2, are 4x, 10x, 40x and 100x. So there's a bit of a gap where 20x is missing. ... Can anyone suggest what would suit and be parfocal? Next question, if I want to use my specs, would "any" Olympus/Nikon wide-field eyepiece work? (23mm, mi...

Re: Camera Attachment
there is currently a trinocular BHS fitted with a PM-10 AD up on ebay. I feel like an idiot for still, after so much reading, not being able to determine whether or not this would be of any use to me if using a DSLR. The PM-10 is no use with a DSLR. It comes off easily by loosening a screw to revea...

Re: Can anyone reccomend a body
Olympus do still make cameras that can fit the Photomicro Adapter L, using a cheap adapter from eBay, but they all have a small Four Thirds sensor which will give a restricted field of view, and as far as I know none of them can be controlled from a computer. As others have said, your best choice is...

Re: What do you think about Nikon J1 on microscope ?
The Nikon 1 cameras have a sensor with a 15.9 mm diameter. The Olympus MTV-3 C-mount adapter used with an NFK 2.5x photo eyepiece produces a circular image about 16 mm in diameter. There are cheap adapters for using C-mount lenses on Nikon 1 cameras. So this would be an interesting combination to tr...

Re: Olympus BH-2/BHTU rear-facing nosepiece what is the down
Seems to be a lot of BH2 BHTUs for sale right now. I read somewhere that the reverse-facing nosepiece has (or should have) a lower resale value. Having never used one, I'm puzzled as to why this would be the case. Can anyone enlighten me? And is an earlier BH-2 preferable in some other ways besides...

Re: Advice on new dSLR camera purchase
In fact Canon EOS 450D -650D have EFSC all the time enabled, they don't have another LV option. Do you have a reference? I searched on google and cannot find anything on it... One other question: what is the advantage of remote live view over using the HDMI port for getting your live-preview on you...

Are there any sources for obtaining manuals for these microscopes? In addition, can anyone recommend good reference material or articles on setting up and using Phase Contrast objectives and condensers?
