Oshiro 60mm 2:1 macro lens excessive pincushion distortion.
Today i receive an oshiro 60mm lens bought in near mint condition from eBay. The lens exhibits severe pincushion distortion even on aps sensor .With full frame camera the problem is even worst. It seems that this happens with all magnifications. Some photo samples from a full frame camera 1x http://...

Ball grid array from graphics card board
This is a photo of BGA (BALL GRID ARRAY) from a graphics card board. The gpu was removed in a brutal manner and as a result many of the underlying solder balls were destroyed.Epi darkfield illumination.

Theoretically a denser aps sensor will give you some advantage especially with lower power objectives (5x,10x) which require high pixel count sensors.Nowadays upper limit is 24mp for APS.I have no experience with EOS cameras and microscopy work (although a own a FF CANON body) but if I have to sugge...

Hi Robert Although I have experience mounting various types of lenses this one requires a lot of work due to huge front element. From what I understand it scans various types of film and then project directly on paper like a typical enlarger lens.It may be suitable for large format cameras due to hug...

Yet another "exotic" lens
After various strange lens (x-ray , stepper lenses ,scanner lenses etc)presented here from "glass junkie" users -myself included- is time for a new candidate. http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/userpix/1778_kon_2.jpg It is marked ELH-N070 and a google search reveals that is used on a professional...

From what I understand your are using your finite objectives as infinites in combination with a telephoto lens as tube lens. This is possible with low magnification objectives since are much more tolerant than high magnification ones. When you are using the finite as infinite you are practically wor...

Several years ago I bought the following 4x finite objective (think it is ''type b'' 4x according to your image) https://www.ebay.com/itm/Compound-Microscope-Objective-Lens-10X-Plan-Achromatic-DIN-RMS-thread-/320600929807?hash=item4aa54df60f It is of decent quality but for sure is inferior to Nikon ...

Many thanks for sharing the information with us. I have 2 questions. 1)Can you please be more specific about the painters tape? Are you using it after cleaning the wafers in ultrasonic bath? 2)What is the dimensions of your wafer test target?I 'm thinking of buying some 6'' wafer plates through ebay...
