Probably strong light from the side, try a lens hood,

Hi A good comparison that shows that smaller steps are better! The first image with steps of 25 µm is hazy, cloudy and shows less details. The second image with steps of 10 µm, is clearer, sharper and shows more details. Steps with 5 µm would be even sharper and clearer and less sharpening would be ...
