How is the sharpness @ F8 at say 3X ? I had alot of fun last summer with the Laowa 60mm 2X Macro using it with a Panasonic GH5 filming insects. It was sharp even at F8 so it was perfect to use as a videolens with enough dof at close macro. With pictures you can always stack but for video its a probl...

Ok here is a first test, i held the Olympus WH10X/22 Eyepeice between two fingers in front of phone and at the same time i held the phone so its very shaky. I had to use 1.3X digital zoom to get rid of vignetting so IQ suffers a bit. Optical zoom is a must for any kind of usuable workingdistance wit...

You may want to consider attaching a flash too, unless your primary application is videography instead of photography. Its for video only. For photo phones are usually not quite so good compared to a camera so will probably be a bit underwelming. These small high-performance sensorns and fast proce...

Have you had a chance to see if the macro lens it comes with is any good? Most of the ones I've tried aren't good enough . No sorry still on its way in the mail. I dont expect it to be any good (at all) but i guess it could be interesting to compare it with the Eyepiece and Raynox lens to see what ...

Watching with interest. S9 - 1000fps, 120fps Ultra HD... Maybe it's time to upgrate my S2? Hehe yeah phone tech is on the fast track. The specs seems to vary between sites thought. I think we have to wait until feb-25 at MWC to be sure what it will be. Given the new sensor and the latest processor ...

So after doing some more reading i ended up buying a Koziro Cinema Mount Mark II (found it at a good price else beastgrip might be better). It has a 37mm lens mount. Reason to go with a cinema mount is it will be alot easier holding the phone and i can switch lenses. I got two lenses i will try out....

Smartphone macro-videography

Still a good couple of months before any bugs here in Sweden but i have been doing some reading on possibly using a smartphone for macro-videography. I am pondering this as i sold my GH5 camera due to the fact my only interest seems to be to video insects so the camera would be sitting on a shelf li...

Cool setup !
Mayby a bit overcomplicated but i guess thats what happens when you want to build something from scratch and try new things :D
Not alot of ppl could do that or have patience for building it.

Impressive build and filming with that rig for sure.

Some very nice footage there of an active jumper. I have been thinking using slowmo at some scenes but i would probably need external lightning to get rid of the motionblur. Not even 60fps is sometimes enough when this close up as all motions get magnified. At 60fps, the recommended shutter speed s...

Awsome work. Been waiting for something like this for a long time !
Its so hard to compare tests made by different persons as the cameras and setup are not the same. Did not think the Gold Nikon would be that bad compared to the cheaper ones.

Thanks i will check em out ! Did not know the whole cap with lenses came off like that. That behavior is unexpected until you know about it, but it's common among many different kinds of arthropods. See for example the following images of caterpillar head capsules: http://www.photomacrography.net/fo...

When you change the extension on the bellows the dust gets pushed around and it will get on the sensor. Expecially on a horizontal setup. Its not a huge problem if the bellows is in a set extension but if you extend and contract the bellows while camera is mounted the dust will get on the sensor for...
